Cobble Hill is about to get a little sweeter.

I’m excited to share that Häagen-Dazs has officially signed a lease for a brand-new location at 180 Smith Street, a prime corner storefront in the heart of the neighborhood. The deal was signed in December 2025, with plans for the shop to open in Spring 2026.

As someone who works closely with both landlords and tenants across Brooklyn’s most active retail corridors, it’s always rewarding to help bring a beloved brand into a community where it truly fits. In this case, Cobble Hill is getting a tenant that feels like an instant classic.

A Landmark Corner Location at 180 Smith Street

The new Häagen-Dazs will be located at 180 Smith Street, one of the most visible corners in the neighborhood.

This is a location that checks every box for a high-performing retail business:

  • Prominent corner frontage
  • Heavy daily foot traffic
  • Constant car exposure along Smith Street
  • Surrounded by strong dining, shopping, and residential density
  • Directly adjacent to the subway station, making it an effortless stop for both locals and commuters

Smith Street continues to prove itself as one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant commercial corridors, and this corner is a particularly special opportunity.

Experienced Franchisees with Deep Brand Roots

This isn’t just any Häagen-Dazs expansion — the group behind this new Cobble Hill location has a long-standing relationship with the brand and an impressive operating background.

The franchisees already own multiple successful Häagen-Dazs stores, including a location at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey.

They also took over one of the most iconic addresses in the company’s history:

120 Montague Street — the first-ever Häagen-Dazs location.

Their commitment to the brand and track record as operators made them an ideal fit for Cobble Hill, and I’m confident this new shop will become a neighborhood staple from day one.

Representing Both Sides of a Thoughtful Deal

I had the privilege of representing both the tenant and the landlord in this transaction.

Deals like this require a high level of collaboration, clear communication, and long-term thinking — ensuring the tenant is positioned for success, while the landlord brings in a business that enhances the value and character of the building.

It’s a win-win outcome and the kind of tenancy that strengthens an already thriving retail district.

Opening Spring 2026

With the lease now executed, the team is moving toward an anticipated opening in Spring 2026.

Cobble Hill residents can look forward to a new go-to destination for:

  • Classic Häagen-Dazs scoops
  • Seasonal flavors
  • Warm-weather treats along Smith Street
  • A beautifully situated corner shop right by the train

Cobble Hill Continues to Attract Best-in-Class Retail

Cobble Hill and the Smith Street corridor remain some of the most desirable retail environments in Brooklyn — not just for independent boutiques and restaurants, but increasingly for established national brands looking for the right neighborhood fit.

The arrival of Häagen-Dazs is another signal of the area’s strength, stability, and continued growth.
